What do I wear to Firefly?

If it were up to us, as little as possible. However, for your own comfort, and the comfort of those around you, we recommend clothing. Casual and comfortable works for us.

Will the chef come say hi to me?

If you want, just ask your server, but to be honest, he's really not that interesting.

What happens if we're late for our reservation?

Don't worry; chef is late for everything, so we understand. Just call and let us know when you expect to arrive. We'll hold your table for up to 15 minutes. Anything more and we might need to give it to people that have watches.

Do you have outdoor seating?

We wish. Unfortunately a certain former DC Mayor rolled up and smoked our permit request.

Where is the closest parking garage?

Right by the south dupont circle metro station.on 19th st. So close, you may as well just take the metro.

Do you have valet parking?

Nope, but we hear that the palm does and that you can valet your car over there and then walk over and eat here.

How often does the menu change?

As often as our farmers make us. It seems to be in constant change through spring, summer and fall, and less often in the winter.

Well what about the Pot Roast!?

Don't worry, there are a few dishes that never change, like the Pot Roast, Matzoh Ball Soup, Deviled Eggs, Shrimp 'n Grits, Mac 'n Cheese, and Lamb Pappardelle.

Does the chef share recipes?

He does, so long as you want recipes that feed 500. However, if you know a good publisher, put us in touch. Then we'll have all your favorite recipes in one place. All kidding aside, find the hidden link on the main page to view this month's featured recipe.

Is Firefly a good place to bring kids?

We love kids. We love kids sitting in their chairs, behaving, and eating their vegetables. We'll also give them a cookie to decorate.

Do you accommodate Gluten-Free diets?

Yes, we have gluten-free menus and we do our best to accommodate the ever evolving world of food allergies. Our kitchen, however, is not a gluten-free facility, so if your allergy is severe, we may not be the place for you

Do you make your own desserts?

Sure do. Top to bottom, ice cream, sorbet and all.

Can we order food to go?

Of course you can, we're happy to sell you our food without you taking up a seat in the dining room. Thanks!

Are you pet friendly?

Sorry, we don't allow pets in the restaurant, but you're welcome to get a room at the Hotel Madera with your pet and order Firefly for room service.

Do you have a corkage fee?

We allow you to bring wine, so long as we don't already carry it. We charge a $15 fee for this.

Can we bring a cake?

Although, we do sell our own desserts, we understand that sometimes, something more festive is desired. In this case, all we require is a $3.50 per person fee. As well, we'd be more than happy to cut and plate your cake.
